Trump Crypto Dinner Guest Blasts “Worst Food Ever” and “Bullshit” Speech at Exclusive Memecoin Event

Social media influencer who paid $360,000 in Trump tokens for dinner access delivers scathing review of presidential event

A social media influencer who spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on President Donald Trump’s memecoin to secure a seat at an exclusive dinner with the commander-in-chief has delivered a blistering critique of both the food and the president’s remarks at the high-priced event.

Nicholas Pinto, a 25-year-old TikTok personality with 2.6 million Instagram followers, purchased approximately $360,000 worth of Official Trump (TRUMP) tokens to earn his place among the top 220 holders invited to dine with the president at Trump National Golf Club in Potomac Falls, Virginia, on May 22.

“Walmart Steak” and Disappointed Diners

The evening’s menu featured what organizers described as a “Trump organic field green salad,” followed by an “entrée duet” of filet mignon and pan-seared halibut with mashed potatoes and vegetable medley, concluding with lava cake for dessert. However, Pinto’s assessment was far from flattering.

“It was the worst food I’ve ever had at a Trump golf course,” Pinto told WIRED, calling the filet mignon “trash” and comparing it to “Walmart steak” in messages sent to Fortune during the event. “Everyone at my table was saying the food was some of the worst food that they ever had.”

The criticism wasn’t limited to Pinto’s table. Other attendees interviewed by media outlets described the meal as “OK, but not top-class,” with Pinto noting he left the venue still hungry. “The only good thing was bread and butter,” he said, adding that he had hoped for Trump’s preferred McDonald’s fare instead. “I was hoping for either Big Macs or pizza. That would have been better than the food that we were served.”

Presidential Speech Falls Flat

Beyond the culinary disappointments, Pinto also criticized Trump’s address to the assembled crypto investors. “Pretty much like bullshit,” he told Fortune when describing the president’s speech.

According to videos shared on social media, Trump read from a script and made general comments about cryptocurrency, telling attendees: “You believe in the whole crypto thing. A lot of people are starting to believe in it… This is really something that may be special — who knows, right? Who knows — but it may be special.”

Adding to attendees’ frustration, Trump departed immediately after his brief remarks rather than staying to mingle with guests or distribute promised watches to top investors, according to Pinto’s account.

A $148 Million Pay-for-Access Event

The dinner represented one of the most expensive pay-for-access schemes in presidential history. According to crypto analytics firm Inca Digital, investors collectively purchased $148 million worth of the TRUMP memecoin to attend the event. Pinto ranked 72nd on the leaderboard of top holders, earning him the pseudonym “rich.”

The cryptocurrency, launched just two days before Trump’s inauguration, initially soared to a market capitalization of nearly $8.8 billion before plummeting to around $2.8 billion by the time of the dinner.

International Guests and Controversy

The guest list included notable international figures, including Chinese crypto billionaire Justin Sun, who is reportedly under investigation by the Justice Department, as well as executives from Singaporean crypto startups and Australian investors.

The event drew sharp criticism from ethics watchdogs and Democratic lawmakers. The nonprofit Public Citizen organized protests outside the venue, with Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) joining demonstrators. “Trump’s crypto businesses constitute one of the most corrupt innovations in American political history,” said Robert Weissman, co-president of Public Citizen.

Thirty-five Democratic senators have called for a Justice Department investigation into the dinner, citing concerns about potential violations of federal bribery statutes and the Constitution’s foreign emoluments clause, which bars presidents from accepting gifts from foreign states without congressional approval.

White House Response

White House spokesperson Anna Kelly defended the event in a statement, saying, “The President is working to secure GOOD deals for the American people, not for himself.”

An Underwhelming End

Despite the hefty price tag and exclusive access, Pinto’s experience left much to be desired. Even dinner host Caitlin Sinclair, an anchor on the conservative news network OANN, reportedly complained about limited access to Trump, telling attendees, “Oh, Trump didn’t even give me a picture.”

After the dinner concluded around 10 p.m., a still-hungry Pinto and his father stopped for additional food before heading to an after-party organized by one of the Singaporean crypto companies at a Washington, D.C. rooftop club.

The event highlights the intersection of cryptocurrency speculation and political access in the Trump administration, raising questions about the influence of digital assets on American politics and the ethical implications of pay-for-access events at the highest levels of government.
